Mario Urrutia

The Jets signed Mario off the Bengals practice squad this past week.  He is a 6'6 wideout from Lousiville who was drafted in the 7th round of the 2008 draft.  While he may not be a perennial pro-bowler he could give the Jets a large target, especially in the red-zone.

Jordan Hill

Wow, thats a surprise.  Why would the Knicks take a forward if they already have one by the name of David Lee??  It only means one thing, they're planning for a future without him.

Stephen Curry

Now with Curry gone, it is all but guaranteed that the Knicks will take Jrue Holliday.  Yo could hear the Knicks fans in the background booing when Curry was just taken.  I wasn't enthralled by him, but I guess most other people were.

Ricky Rubio Gone

The Timberwolves just drafted him.  So we here at the blog project the Knicks to take either Jrue Holliday, or Stephen Curry.  Basically it will boil down to whoever is available then.  Chances are one of them will.

Who will the Knicks take???

We'll keep you posted.  So far the Knick major targets; Ricky Rubio and Stephen Curry are still on the board.  I'd like to see Curry as I generally tend not to trust the foreign players, although Curry has his downsides also.  They could even trade the pick, and Darren Collison later with the 28th pick.  I'd place bets that they'll take Stephen Curry.  However, if I were drafting, I'd take Jrue Holliday.

Yankees Win 8-4

Joba had a solid performance and A-rod finally got a hit and the Yankees finally won a game.  It seems like its been way too long.  Joba only went 6 1/3 but that certainly is much longer than some of his previous performances.  However, the story of the night has to have been the Yankee offense.  After they were shut down over the previous night and essentially being completely turned off over the last 3 games, they finally got it together and tacked up a big 8.  A-rod had a big hit to give the Yanks a 3-1 lead, and they never looked back.  Nobody know for sure what tomorrow will bring, but if A-rod can keep those hits coming, then the pitchers will fear him and start throwing better to Teixara.  Once that happens, the Yankees will return to their winning ways.

Important note, Francisco Cervellis hit his first home run of his career.  It seemed for forever that nobody could ever replace Posada.  Now it looks like Cervellis could take over when Posada's career is over.

Player of the Game:  Mariano Rivera; He struck out the final four batters of the game, the first of which with runners on first and second in the 8th.  After a weeks rest, it was good to see Mo get back on track.  It alway inspires confidence to seen Rivera on the mound.

USA

For those of you who care about Soccer, and I personally have gotten  more and more interested in the international soccer, the USA demolished Brazil 2-0 this afternoon.  I'm not 100% sure but based on the odds and what the ESPN people were saying, this would have been like the '64 Mets beating the '27 Yankees 30-0.  While that seems almost impossible, that is certainly what this win for USA seems like.  We'll see who they play in the Confederation's Cup Championship in the coming days.
